SMARTMOVERS LLC - USER AGREEMENT

INTRODUCTION

This User Agreement ("Agreement") is between you ("Customer") and Smartmovers LLC ("Smartmovers," "we," or "us"), a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This Agreement governs your use of our moving and relocation services.

SERVICES

Smartmovers provides residential and commercial moving services, packing, unpacking, storage, and related services in Dubai and throughout the UAE. Services will be specified in your service quote.

BOOKING AND PAYMENTS

  • Quotes: All price quotes are valid for 30 days. Final charges may change based on actual service requirements.
  • Booking: Your booking is confirmed after we receive your deposit payment.
  • Deposit: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your moving date.
  • Payment: Full payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise arranged.
  • Payment Methods: We accept credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and cash (AED).

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations 7+ days before your move: Deposit is forfeited, no additional charges.
  • Cancellations 3-6 days before your move: 50% of total service fee.
  • Cancellations less than 48 hours before your move: 75% of total service fee.
  • Rescheduling with at least 72 hours' notice: Free for first change, AED 250 fee for subsequent changes.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about items to be moved.
  • Ensure access to both pickup and delivery locations.
  • Remove or secure valuables and sensitive items (jewelry, cash, important documents).
  • Obtain any necessary building or community permissions.
  • Be present or have an authorized representative present during the move.
  • Inform us of any special conditions that might affect the move.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

We do not transport:

  • Hazardous materials (flammables, explosives, chemicals)
  • Illegal items
  • Perishable goods
  • Plants (for international moves)
  • Pets
  • Extremely fragile items unless specially arranged

LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

  • Standard Coverage: Our services include basic coverage of AED 10,000 for entire shipment.
  • Additional Insurance: We offer additional insurance at AED 25 per AED 10,000 of declared value.
  • Claim Filing: All claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Limitations: We are not liable for:
    • Items packed by customers
    • Pre-existing damage
    • Electronic data loss
    • Delays due to weather, traffic, or other factors beyond our control

SERVICE LIMITATIONS

  • Movers cannot dismantle or reassemble items requiring technical expertise.
  • Certain items (pianos, safes, gym equipment) require special arrangements and additional fees.
  • For safety reasons, our staff may refuse to move items that pose risks.

COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

  • Report any issues to our customer service team within 48 hours.
  • We aim to resolve all complaints within 7 business days.
  • Disputes will be resolved through:
    • Direct negotiation
    • Mediation through Dubai Chamber of Commerce
    • Legal proceedings in Dubai courts

FORCE MAJEURE

We are not liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, or civil unrest.

GOVERNING LAW

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

MODIFICATION OF TERMS

We may update this Agreement periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or website notice.

TERMINATION

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if:

  • You breach this Agreement
  • You engage in abusive behavior toward our staff
  • Safety concerns arise that cannot be mitigated
